the perrys

While I was editing the Perry Family’s pictures this song came up on my playlist over and over. It fits so well with the results of their session that I’ve declared it the unofficial theme song for this post. Of course, we weren’t actually at the beach…we were at the Cambridge Hyatt. But there is a mini-beach involved. The mood still fits. Whatevs.

Kat is another MOPS mom and lemme.tell.ya… These mommas I’m meeting are amazing, inspiring, and absolutely fabulous. I can’t rave enough about how glad I am that I met them. Kat and her family are so adorable. She handles her four children with a grace that never fails to amaze me and they all have a huge love for each other that is so apparent.  I mean, UGH, look at this sweetness.

Let’s all take a minute here to say D’AAAWWWW.

Whatcha got there, Matt?

Surely those aren’t dead crabs. Seriously.

Oh but they so are.

And that’s why I need the Perrys to adopt me. The boys are nuts and will toughen me up. Even though it was the oldest, Breanna, who touched me on the arm with a dead baby crab and made me shriek like she was cutting my arm off. I really need some toughening up.

steffany, jason & the rugrats

Busy, busy! Three (!!) sessions this week. I’m feeling not too shabby about this whole venture, especially if it keeps this up. Considering I’m basically nagging all my friends and family into letting me run around them snapping photos from crazy angles, it may not, but hey, a girl can dream.

My Sister-in-Law Steffany was officially the first person to ask me to do a shoot for her without me first begging her to model for me. (Although, another week and I would have.)

She and her boyfriend Jason brought their sweet little blended family to Sailwinds park for me to chase around. That is why I love shooting kids, even if they don’t always enjoy it like I do.. the crazy running around, climbing and jumping. All the things I usually do anyway but at least with kids there it looks like its on purpose.

And Steff and Jason… you only have to be around them for a short time to see how crazy he is about her. It makes my heart happy.

This is my nephew Jacob. Technically he’s my Hubs’ nephew, I guess, but seriously..the kid was going from being a zombie to doing ninja kicks all over the place. He’s totally my nephew. No, you can’t borrow him.

The whole session was just plain fun. I’m seriously hoping she asks me to do it again soon!

the elliotts 8.2.13

I’ve lived in Maryland for over three years now but I still feel like I know no one other than my husband’s family and the few people I worked with when I first moved here. This summer I joined a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group here in Cambridge in order to fix that sad fact. Its fabulous, and one of the most fabulous ladies I’ve met is Jen Elliott.
Image
Jen and her Husband Chris and their daughter Madison graciously agreed to be my “first official photo shoot ever” guinea pigs. I was positively giddy. ImageImage

Madison is one of the most adorable little girls in existence, you guys. She’s shy and not the biggest fan of the camera, but it doesn’t even matter. Look at those big beautiful eyes! Doll baby.

Can not wait to do sooo many more with them in the future. Christmas photos, here we come!
